Dr. Sara Price
Sara is a PI on the Designing Tangibles for Learning Project. Sara is a RCUK Academic Fellow in Maths Science and Technology at the Institute of Education. Based at the London Knowledge Lab her research primarily focuses on the role of digital technologies in learning. With a background in cognitive psychology her work is based around theories arising from research in cognitive science, particularly those relating to representation and reasoning, which offer a useful framework within which to study the potential value of digital technologies for learning. Much of her work explores ways in which emerging digital technologies can enhance learning in terms of their impact on interaction and cognition. Other interests include in exploring how digital records generated, for example, through wireless, mobile technologies can be designed and re-represented for different purposes, both for researchers themselves and for learners. Dr. George Roussos
George is a PI on the Designing Tangibles for Learning project. George Roussos holds a B.Sc. in Mathematics from University of Athens, Greece, an M.Sc. in Numerical Analysis and Computing from University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology, UK, and a Ph.D. from Imperial College of Science Technology and Medicine, University of London, UK. Before joining Birkbeck College as a lecturer he worked as the Research and Development Manager for Pouliadis Associates Corporation, Athens, Greece, where he was responsible for the strategic development of new IT products in the areas of knowledge management and mobile internet, as an Internet security officer for the Ministry of Defence, Athens, where he designed the Hellenic armed forces Internet exchange and domain name systems, and as a research fellow for Imperial College, London, UK, where he conducted research in distributed systems. His current research interests include distributed and pervasive computer systems and mobile commerce. He is a member of the ACM and an associate of the IEEE and the IEEE Computer Society. Dr. Jennifer G. Sheridan
Jennifer is a Research Officer on the Designing Tangibles for Learning project. Jennifer holds a PhD in Computer Science from Lancaster University, and MS in Human-Computer Interaction from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Before joining the London Knowledge Lab, Jennifer co-founded BigDog Interactive, a small company of programmers and artists who create bespoke code for interactive installations and performance events. She is on the committee of the International Journal of Performance Arts and Digital Media and co-founded the Digital Live Art conference series. [Staff profile]
Taciana Pontual Falcao
Taciana is a Research Officer on the Designing Tangibles for Learning project. Taciana holds a MS in Human-Computer Interaction from the Centre of Informatics - CIn (Federal University of Pernambuco, Brazil).
