Visit the Department
The department is located in the Birkbeck main building on Malet Street. Find us on Google Maps, Open Street Map or using our PDF Map. Access is via the main entrance on Torrington Square. Our main campus in Bloomsbury is open 7 days a week from 7am to 11.45pm. Please check holiday closing dates if visiting outside of term time. A face covering must be worn on campus, unless you are exempt.
Academic staff offices
Academic offices are located across the first and second floors of the main building extension. For office locations and contact information of specific members of academic staff please consult our staff profile pages.
Admin office
The admin office is located in room 163 on the first floor of the Birkbeck main building extension and is open Monday to Thursday from 10am to 6pm during term time. We recommend that you make an appointment via email or telephone as staff work on a rota and a specific member of the team may not be available in person on the day you are visiting.
Computing laboratories
The department's computing laboratories are located in rooms 403, 404, 405 and 407 on the fourth floor of the Birkbeck main building and are open Monday to Sunday from 7am to 11.45pm.
Seminar room
The seminar room is locationed in room 151 on the first floor of the Birkbeck main building extension. For details of upcoming events please consult our seminar information pages.
Directions
Public transport
Birkbeck is near a number of Underground stations, including Russell Square, Goodge Street, Euston Square, Tottenham Court Road, Euston and King's Cross St Pancras.
National Rail stations Euston and King's Cross are nearby, as well as St Pancras International.
Buses stopping at Gower Street, Russell Square or Tottenham Court Road also offer convenient links to Birkbeck.

From the airport
From Heathrow take the Underground (Piccadilly Line, eastbound) to Russell Square, a short walk from Birkbeck, or to King's Cross St Pancras, a short ride via bus or taxi.
From Gatwick take a fast train to Victoria or a slower train to King's Cross St Pancras. You can reach Birkbeck via public transport from Victoria, while King's Cross St Pancras is a 20 minute walk or a short ride via bus or taxi.
Cycle
An extensive network of cycle routes lead to Birkbeck and there are ample cycle rack facilities around the Malet Street building.
Drive
If you are planning your journey by car, please bear in mind that the Congestion Charge applies, while central London parking facilities are both limited and often expensive.
