For the past twenty one years, the ACM Symposium on Applied Computing has been a primary gathering forum for applied computer scientists, computer engineers, software engineers, and application developers from around the world. SAC 2007 is sponsored by the ACM Special Interest Group on Applied Computing, and is hosted by Seoul National University in Seoul and The Suwon University in Gyeonggi-do.

Ubiquitous Computing Applications

The ACM SAC 2007 Track on Ubiquitous Computing welcomes paper submissions on all types of ubiquitous computing research and applications with emphasis on those describing research that directly affects the realisation of Digital Spaces, the emergence of Digital Services and the management of Digital Content.

Possible application areas include but are not restricted to:

• Private and public Digital Territories open or closed smart spaces.
• Virtual Residence and Smart Home.
• Virtual Office and ubiquitous computing supported collaborative work.
• Virtual Classroom and ubiquitous learning in formal and informal settings, for example during museum, gallery or exhibition visits.
• Entertainment, infotainment and gaming.
• Awareness systems and location-based services.
• Interaction with ubiquitous computing systems, including motion recognition, attention-driven interaction, natural language interaction etc
• Ubiquitous commerce including shopping assistants, retail environments and home shopping.
• Ubiquitous cognitive assistance including ubiquitous valet, rememberer systems or software robots.
• Ambient Assisted Living environments for various population classes.
• Environmental control including self-configuring sensor and actuator networked applications.
• Transportation including fleet management applications.
• Emergent ubiquitous computing services and e-government.

This Track will particularly welcome practical results, description and analysis of user experiments and demonstrations of working prototypes of ubiquitous computing applications.

The length of a SAC paper is normally 5 pages in ACM format (approximately 5000 words). Longer papers (up to 8 pages maximum) will be accepted but an additional fee per extra page will apply.

Sept 8, 2006 : Submission of proposals for papers (strict)

Oct 16, 2006 : Notification of acceptance / rejection

Oct 30, 2006 : Camera-Ready copies of accepted papers

Note that a paper cannot be submitted to more than one track.
